The English-language textbook entitled A Course Book of Interdisciplinary Lessons Focusing on Civic Education is the result of our international Erasmus project created in cooperation with Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Partium Christian University was one of the partners in the project. The textbook is one of four interdisciplinary textbooks produced as part of the project, containing twenty-five carefully selected lesson plans that can be used to teach B2-level English lessons on topics related to civic education to secondary school students.
The authors are teachers from different countries and cultures who share their knowledge on a wide range of topics, such as intergenerational relationships, discovering identity through the everyday objects we use, philosophical interpretations of the concept of friendship, rationalism and empiricism, Plato, Machiavelli, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, human rights, the pillars of sustainability, reggae music and the search for freedom, good deeds, students' parliamentary elections, and the phenomenon of "mansplaining". The editors of the textbook are lecturers at the English Department of Partium Christian University.
We trust that our selected lessons will serve as inspiring teaching material for high school teachers when choosing topics for their English classes, contributing to broadening students' worldviews through exciting and meaningful lessons.
