Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences
Partium University’s Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences considers that its main objectives are to strengthen entrepreneurship in the Partium, train and prepare experts for work at regional governments, and provide the educational, social, and economic institutions with professionals. Our BA and MA programmes align teachers who are practice-oriented professionals with responsible theoretical and methodological knowledge. Our students acquire their first practical experience at national and international institutions, where they have high chance of employment once they graduate. During their practical training, students benefit from ERASMUS and MAKOVECZ grants, as do the students who enrol in a part-time training at any of our partner institutions (Hungary, Poland, Spain, Turkey, etc.)
Our department has been training economists for over 20 years at Partium Christian University, with the aim to help Hungarian young people succeed in accomplishing their professional plans. Our rapidly changing world demands being constantly up-to-date, which results in expanding our range of training programs and also in modern educational programs with corporation-centred curriculum. This enables our students to acquire high-level and up-to-date professional knowledge that will prove competitive in the labour market. The basic subjects target the acquisition of modern economic knowledge while students can opt for different packages from the optional courses based on their own interest. The quality training is provided by local and foreign experts.
The Department of Human and Social Sciences (DHSS) has been functioning since the academic year 2016/17, unifying the teaching staff and degree programs of the formerly existing departments of Social Science, Philosohy and Cultural Studies and Theology. In addition to the education activity, the DHSS also carries out major research activities, as members of the department have been involved in several international and domestic research projects for several years. Members of the faculty from the field of social sciences are currently conducting several applied research programs in cooperation with the Center for Talent Management and Career Counseling. The Department's educational methodology projects are also of major importance, especially in the field of pedagogy of preschool and primary education.
