Organised by the university’s Institute of Marketing and Tourism under the motto “Tourism for All: Smart, Inclusive and Responsible Travel in an Age of Uncertainty,” the event brought together more than one hundred Hungarian and international academics and practitioners.
The session titled “Tourism in Central‑Eastern Europe and the Balkans” was moderated by Dr Ferenc Szilágyi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at Partium Christian University. In collaboration with Dr Alpár Horváth of Babeș–Bolyai University, he presented their latest joint research, “The Question of Spatiality in Romanian Tourism,” highlighting the links between the geographical characteristics of Romanian destinations and their development prospects.
During the plenary session Professor Butler delivered a keynote on the challenges of sustainable destination management, emphasising the roles of community engagement and adaptive governance in current tourism trends.
