Values, Integration, and Christianity in Europe. PCU students took part in an Erasmus+ mobility
Our students spent a week in Biezenmortel, the Netherlands, as part of another short-term Erasmus+ programme. The event, held from April 7 to 11, focused on the impact of Christianity on European culture.

The project explored fundamental European values and offered a critical Christian perspective on integration. Students delved into the history of Christianity and its role in Europe’s development through plenary lectures, workshops, and discussion groups. Topics also included the role of community and society based on Tönnies' theory, as well as the pros and cons of using artificial intelligence.

Alongside the diverse lectures and workshops, we also took part in a one-day excursion to Utrecht, where we learned about the city and its churches thanks to our guides.

In parallel with our mobility programme, the INCHE Global Conference 2025 was also taking place, bringing together participants from all over the world – including India, Nepal, Australia, China, and the United States, to name a few.

In line with the themes of the conference and the student programme, the accommodation and venue were set in a former monastery in Biezenmortel, which now functions as a guesthouse while preserving the monastery’s unique atmosphere and fairy-tale surroundings. During this week, our students of English, German, and Sociology majors had a taste of everyday life in the Netherlands.

Both the BIP and the global conference were organised by the European branch of INCHE (International Network for Christian Higher Education), in partnership with PCU and the following universities and institutions: Ede Christian University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education (Netherlands), Schuman Centre (Netherlands), Qua Vadis Institute (Austria), Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Science (Ukraine), ForMission College – Newman University (Netherlands), Evangelical Theological Seminary Osijek (Croatia), Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem (Hungary).
