Accommodation
Hotel Nevis, one of the most recently built hotels in Oradea, is located within walking distance of the university. (You can visit their website at www.hotelnevis.ro.) Single rooms are RON160/night/person, double rooms are RON200/night/room. Room prices include breakfast. Room reservation will be made by the organizers on the basis of the registration form but payment should be done by the guests upon leaving the hotel. The hotel accepts credit cards and cash in RON or Euros.
If there are at least ten rooms reserved for conference participants, the hotel is willing to give a reduction (RON130 for single and RON160 for double rooms). If this is the case, we will inform you before you arrive at the conference.
Accommodation is also available in Arany János Kollégium, the dormitory of Partium Christian University in 2-3-bedded rooms for RON15/night/person. Breakfast in the cafeteria is available for RON5.
The Venue of the Conference
All events of the conference will take place in the main building of Partium Christian University which is located at 27 Primăriei Street, Oradea. The University can be easily accessed by tram or by car.
Conference Papers
Selected papers of the conference will be published in The Round Table, the offical e-journal of the English Department of Partium Christian University. Papers must be submitted within two months of the conference formatted according to the latest MLA Style Sheet as a Microsoft Word document. They should be sent to the following address: ceuenglishyahoo.com.
Meals
On Friday and Saturday nights there will be receptions with food and drinks and on Saurday lunch will be provided in the university cafeteria. The only meal you have to arrange on your own is lunch on Friday before the opening ceremony.
Currency and Bank Cards
Although you can freely use most bank cards in Romania (at hotels, restaurants, larger shops, etc.), you are kindly requested to exchange some money into leu (RON, currently 1 Euro is cca. RON 3,4) because the organising committee can accept only cash in RON for registration and there is no Exchange Bureau at the university.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at ceuenglishyahoo.com.
We look forward to seeing you soon in Oradea.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Péter Szaffkó
